When pain interrupts sleep, it can be difficult to remember the details the next day. A short bedside note can help you describe the pattern more clearly at your next pain-management visit.
Record the timing
Note whether discomfort made it hard to fall asleep, woke you during the night, or was most noticeable when you first got up. You do not need exact times; a simple estimate is enough.
Include position and activity
Write down whether changing position, getting out of bed, or moving around changed the symptoms. If the day included unusual lifting, driving, exercise, or long periods of sitting, add that information as well.
Keep the log simple
One or two sentences each night can be more useful than a complicated form you stop using. Bring the notes with your medication list and relevant records to your appointment.
