How Daily Function Helps Describe Persistent Pain at a Tucson Evaluation

Persistent pain is often easier to explain when you describe what it changes in daily life. Instead of focusing only on a pain score, note whether symptoms affect sleep, walking, work, errands, household tasks, or other activities that matter to you.

For a new pain-management evaluation, it can also help to bring a brief history of prior treatment, relevant imaging, current medications, and examples of what has changed recently. This gives the clinician more context for an individualized discussion of next steps.

What to write down before your visit

  • Where the pain is most noticeable and when it changes.
  • Two or three daily activities that have become harder.
  • What treatments you have already tried and how they affected function.
  • Relevant imaging or recent pain-management records you can bring.
  • The questions or goals you most want to discuss.

Canyon Health welcomes new pain-management patients in Tucson, including people establishing care after treatment elsewhere.
