HCG Diet Weight Loss Plan

History of the HCG Diet
HCG is the acronym for Human Chorionic Gonadotropin, a hormone produced by the placenta during pregnancy in large amounts. HCG for weight loss was discovered by British endocrinologist, Dr. A.T.W. Simeons. Dr. Simeons, while studying pregnant women on a calorie-deficient diet and overweight boys with pituitary problems (Frölich’s syndrome), found that when he treated these patients with low-dose HCG, both groups lost fat rather than muscle. He theorized that HCG must be programming the hypothalamus (part of the brain that deals with hormones) to do this in these patients in order to protect the developing fetus by promoting mobilization and removal of abnormal, excessive fat deposits. We have based our HCG diet on a modified version of his original weight loss protocol.
How Does it Work?
The HCG diet has two components (parts):
(1) Component 1 is taking the hormone HCG. This comes in either drops or injections. Both work well and the choice as to which one to use is yours.
(2) Component 2 is a calorie-restricted diet
The HCG diet protocol works by telling the hypothalamus to release your stored body fat. Administering small amounts of HCG hormone can cause your stored body fat to be released. What’s more, the HCG diet is effective in both males and females! While the original HCG diet called for a Very Low Calorie Diet (500 calories per day), we recommend that our patients consume what we believe to be a healthier, but still extremely effective 700 calories a day. The HCG diet plan is restrictive to prevent the fat cells from storing new fat and the new fat from being stored in the adipose (fatty) tissues while you are actively on the HCG diet.
